FOOD EXPORTERS IN KERALA

A range of food products are exported from India to a large number of overseas countries. Processed foods, frozen or dehydrated foods, instant foods and ready-to-eat foods are some of the highly exported food items from India. This has enabled the Indian food industry to occupy a sound market position in the overseas countries. Some of the major processed foods which are exported heavily to the overseas countries are dried and preserved vegetables, mango pulp, pickle and chutney, buffalo meat, processed meat, poultry products, groundnuts, guargum, jaggery and confectionery.

Measures have been adopted by the government authorities to provide financial incentives to promote the exporting agro-food products. Kerala also imports plenty of packaged foods from overseas countries. Nowadays, imported foods are sold at the domestic market leading price in kerala which has benefited many Keralites who prefer frozen foods instead of spending hours in the kitchen buy the imported ones at affordable rates.
